Pat Neal is a graduate of the prestigious Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania and has been married for 35 years to Charlene Neal, who owns her own successful Manatee County business: Purestyle. They have two sons: John Neal, President of Neal Land Ventures and Michael Neal, a land development manager at Neal Communities and a 2017 leader in Professional Builder Magazine’s annual list of 40 Under 40.

He created Neal Communities in 1974, but his experience in construction began several years before that, taking part in the family construction business. Since then his formidable enterprise has built more than 11,000 homes, 12,000 lots and several commercial ventures in Southwest Florida. This former Florida Senator and House Member’s business prowess and proactive vision have successfully guided his company through several economic upswings and downturns. Pat Neal is currently leading a major company expansion into several new counties in Florida and says one of his greatest joys in life is bringing new family members into his growing business.

Neal Communities was named Professional Builder 2015 “Builder of the Year” and was named one of 2012's "America's Best Builders" by BUILDER Magazine and voted the “2013 Best Residential Builder in Southwest Florida” in a readers’ poll sponsored by Gulfshore Business Magazine. The company is ranked No. 1 locally by Metrostudy and by Hanley Wood Market Intelligence based on number of home sales and ranked nationally among the top 50 builders by BUILDER Magazine.

Pat Neal was on Governor Rick Scott’s Transition Team and was charged with the successful reorganization of the Department of Management Services. Formerly Neal was chair of the Florida Commission on Ethics, a state agency created in the Florida Constitution which oversees the conduct of Florida’s 380,000 public employees and he was appointed to the Constitutionally organized Government Efficiency Task Force in 2011 and 2016.

He is also on the Judicial Nominating Commission, and currently holds the position as Chair-Elect on the Board of Directors of Florida Tax Watch, the state’s independent, non-partisan, nonprofit research institute and government watchdog.

He is a Member of the Reserve Officers Association, a life member of the National Rifle Association, and an 8-year Board member and former Chair of the Christian Coalition of Florida. In 2017, Neal was recognized by the Florida Faith and Freedom Coalition with its 2017 Defender of Faith and Freedom Award.

In addition to leading his successful business endeavors, Pat Neal is also a major philanthropist. Over the past decade, he and his company have contributed more than 10 million dollars in support of local community organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Women’s Resource Center, 4-H, Child Protection Center, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of both Manatee and Sarasota.

Neal spearheaded several environmental protection measures as Chairman of the Committee on Natural Resources of the Florida Senate in the 1980s. Today he continually seeks opportunities that follow his philosophy of considering the land first to maintain it for future generations.

As a privately held and family run organization, Neal Communities is dedicated to building high-quality homes that enhance people's lives. More than 11,000 families have trusted in that dedication in addition to the stability and staying power of Neal Communities.
